Different methods of tea withering

Natural withering

Natural withering

  1. After picking, the tea leaves are evenly and thinly spread on a well-ventilated and cool place, such as bamboo sieves, dustpans, etc. Under the natural environment, the tea leaves gradually lose moisture through the circulation of air and the action of temperature.
  2. Natural withering requires a certain amount of time, usually depending on climatic conditions and tea varieties. Generally speaking, when the weather is sunny and the air is dry, the withering speed is faster; while in humid weather, the withering time may be extended.

Artificial withering

Artificial withering

  1. Use equipment such as withering troughs and withering machines for withering. The withering trough usually controls temperature and humidity through hot or cold air to accelerate the dissipation of moisture in tea leaves.
  2. The withering machine can more accurately control the withering conditions, such as temperature, humidity, ventilation speed, etc. This method is suitable for large-scale tea production and can improve production efficiency and quality stability.
